Me, Myself & I

I’m Tom Maitland – I’m a Sydneysider, web designer, WordPress guru, and internet marketer. This is where I write about technology and digital culture, along with a few other random things.

I’m currently studying a degree in Public Communication & International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney and work at Websalad doing a mix of social media, strategy and web development. I also run a small web design business, although my focus on that is changing.

I know WordPress pretty darn well, so I also help some great clients with WordPress development, management, consulting and training. You can find out more about all of this at the services page.

The Website

In April of 2012 I decided it was time to take down my old business-oriented site and start blogging. I kept seeing things happen in the tech world that I wanted to comment on, but didn’t have anywhere to do it. I know, I know, I could have just set up a Tumblr, but that’s no fun.

So, I built this! It’s a bit of an experiment. It’s all HTML5 and CSS3, there are transitions all over the shop and my photo on the right plays with some CSS3 3D transformations. Naturally WordPress powers the rest, delivered by (mt)MediaTemple.
